New history was created on the 7th day at the Paris Paralympics. Harvinder Singh won the gold medal at the Paralympics and thus became the first Indian athlete to win a gold in archery in the history of the Paralympics. Ninth seed Harvinder, a bronze medalist at the Tokyo Paralympics, defeated world number 35 and sixth seed Lukasz Cijek of Poland 6-0 (28-24, 28-27, 29-25) in a one-sided title match.
Harvinder, the only Indian archer to win a medal at the Paralympics, won the gold medal with five consecutive wins on Wednesday and won his second consecutive Paralympic medal. World champion shotput athlete Sachin Khilari won the silver medal with an Asian record. Sachin won the silver medal with an Asian record throw of 16.32 meters in the F46 event.
