CBI registers new case against Sharad Pawar's party NCP leader Anil Deshmukh | News India

Mumbai: Former Maharashtra Home Minister and NCP leader Anil Deshmukh's troubles have increased. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against him. He is accused of pressuring the police to implicate BJP leader Girish Mahajan in a false case under MCOCA during the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in the state.

The CBI had earlier made Special Public Prosecutor Praveen Chavan and others accused in this case. Superintendent of Police Praveen Mundhe gave a statement against Anil Deshmukh. After this, the CBI registered a case against Deshmukh. Now after the case was registered, Anil Deshmukh has thanked Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis by tweeting. He also said that 'low level politics is being done.'

Praveen Mundhe alleged in his statement that Anil Deshmukh wanted to put pressure on Girish Mahajan to register a crime. Deshmukh called SP Mundhe about four to five times. He also used threatening language. He conspired to forcibly implicate Girish Mahajan in a false case. Apart from this, Praveen Chavan was sent to SP Mundhe by Deshmukh.

Earlier, Deshmukh was accused of a scam of Rs 100 crore. Deshmukh was also arrested and remained in jail for a long time.
