There is a very good news for more than 8 lakh government employees and 4 lakh pensioners of Uttar Pradesh. The Central Government has given the green signal to the formation of the 8th Pay Commission, which will directly benefit crores of employees of the country as well as lakhs of families of UP. This commission will submit its report to the government in the next 18 months, after which there will be a big increase in the salary and pension of the employees.

What was said by the government?

Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Choudhary has informed the Parliament that the Finance Ministry has started discussions on implementing the 8th Pay Commission. For this, suggestions have also been sought from different ministries, departments and state governments. As soon as its notification is issued, the chairman and members of the commission will be appointed. However, no firm date has been given yet for when all this will happen.

The biggest question: When will this benefit be available in UP?

This question is in the mind of every government employee of UP. If we look at the old pattern, the 7th Pay Commission was implemented at the Center from January 1, 2016, but it took another 5-6 months for the employees of Uttar Pradesh to get its benefits.

Accordingly, it can be estimated that the recommendations of the 8th Pay Commission may be implemented for the central employees by January 2026. After about 5 to 7 months, i.e. UP employees may also get the gift of new salary by June or July 2026. In 2016 also, UP employees got increased salary with arrears of 6 months, it is expected that something similar will happen this time too.

How is your salary decided? Understand the game of ‘fitment factor’

‘Fitment factor’ is the most important thing in the new pay commission. This is a kind of multiplier, by which a new salary is created by multiplying your existing basic salary. In the 7th Pay Commission it was 2.57, due to which the minimum wage went from Rs 7,000 to Rs 18,000.

For the 8th Pay Commission, it is expected that the fitment factor may be increased to 2.86. Employee organizations are also continuously demanding this.

So what will be your salary? understand with an example

If the fitment factor is kept at 2.86, there will be a huge jump in the salary.

  • Similarly, the minimum pension which ₹9,000 Yes, that too is more than that. ₹25,740 It will be done.

This is just an initial estimate, but it is clear that the coming time is going to bring great financial relief for the employees.
