Women across the country are sad and angry: Priyanka Gandhi
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi posted on the social media platform 'X' and wrote, 'The atrocities against women in Kolkata, Bihar, Uttarakhand and UP have shaken the entire country. At this time women across the country are sad and angry. Whenever such incidents happen, the women of the country see what the governments are doing? How serious are their words and actions?
Priyanka Gandhi wrote in the message, 'Where there was a need to give a strong message about the safety of women, there was an attempt to save the accused. Repeated actions like leniency in cases of heinous atrocities on women, political protection to the accused and granting bail/parole to convicted prisoners discourage women. What message does this send to the women of the country? When government figures show that 86 rape cases are reported every day, from whom should women expect protection?'
