Lucknow, 15 August. The 80th Independence Day celebrations have been celebrated with full grandeur, dignity and patriotic fervor in front of the Vidhan Bhavan in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hoisted the national flag and greeted the people of the state on Independence Day. During this time the entire campus appeared drenched in the colors of patriotism. When flowers rained from the sky amidst the performances of the artists, the enthusiasm of the audience was palpable. The entire campus resonated with the message of patriotism and cultural unity.
The program started at around 9:15 am with the national song Vande Mataram. The students of Bharatkhande Music University filled the atmosphere with patriotism by giving a brilliant presentation of Vande Mataram. After this, 32nd Corps PAC, 35th Corps PAC and Military Band enhanced the dignity of the Independence Day celebrations through a disciplined and attractive presentation. When the Chief Minister released the tricolor balloons into the sky, the atmosphere was filled with slogans and enthusiasm for Bharat Mata.
One India – a glimpse of a better India
In the Independence Day celebrations, special cultural programs were presented by the Culture Department keeping the spirit of ‘One India – Best India’ at the center. Along with the folk culture of Bundelkhand, Purvanchal, Awadh and Western Uttar Pradesh, artists from Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat and Bihar presented a glimpse of their respective folk traditions. From folk songs of ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’ and ‘Chhathi Maiya’ to folk dances of different states, the artists brought the cultural diversity of India on one stage.
The tableau of Lord Ram and Mother Sita captivated the mind.
Tableau of Lord Ram, Mother Sita and Lakshman was presented by Gauri Kala Mandapam Group. Varanasi’s Kumkum Rastogi played the role of Mother Sita, Ritwik Singh played the role of Lord Ram and Ayush Sahu played the role of Laxman. A team of about 16 artists had prepared this presentation.
Kumkum Rastogi said that presenting before Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on the occasion of Independence Day was a very auspicious and proud opportunity for her. He said that there cannot be a bigger opportunity for an artist than presenting his art on such a big platform. The team had prepared continuously for about five days at the Sangeet Natya Academy.
Kathak and folk dance tied the knot
Kathak and folk dance team of Bharatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya also gave a brilliant presentation. In the team, 20 participants presented Kathak and six participants presented folk dance. Tarana was presented under Kathak. The artists told that rehearsals for the Independence Day celebrations were going on for about five days. Bharatkhande team gets the opportunity to perform in such national functions every year. Ravi Shankar, who came from Mathura-Vrindavan, filled the atmosphere with spiritual energy by performing conch blowing. He told that rehearsals were going on for the last four days and he felt proud to perform on this big stage on Independence Day.
‘Rela Pata’ of Chhattisgarh showed the culture of Bastar
A group of 19 artists from Chhattisgarh presented Bastar’s famous traditional folk art ‘Rela Pata’. Kulbhushan Chandrakar, who was leading the team, said that his team had been preparing for the presentation for about a week. Rela Pata was included in a presentation of about 15 minutes along with artists from different states. Kulbhushan said that he felt very good after coming to Lucknow. Thanking Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, he said that there is immense talent in Bastar. It is a matter of pride for them to get the opportunity to showcase their art on the occasion of Independence Day. He said that the land of Chhattisgarh is called the motherland of Mata Kaushalya and today he has got the opportunity to come and perform in Uttar Pradesh, the land of Lord Ram.
Artists from Arunachal and Maharashtra also performed
Neelam, who came from Arunachal Pradesh, said that her team also performed in the Independence Day celebrations and it was an occasion of great joy and pride for all the artists. Bahubali Rajman, who came from Maharashtra, told that his 22-member team prepared for about a week. He said that it has been a very beautiful experience to perform on one stage with artistes from different states.
Flower shower and tricolor balloons boosted enthusiasm
The rain of flowers from the sky during the ceremony further increased the enthusiasm of Independence Day. After this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath released tricolor balloons in the air. This scene created a lot of enthusiasm among the children and common people present there. The happiness on the faces of the children and the Tricolor in their hands was seen coloring the entire atmosphere in the colors of patriotism.
On this occasion, Legislative Council Chairman Kunwar Manvendra Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Mayor Sushma Kharkwal, Rajya Sabha MP Brijlal, Legislative Council Member Pawan Singh, MLA Dr. Neeraj Bora and other public representatives and officials were present.
