Jind, 23 October (Hindustan Reporter). Cyber police on Wednesday registered a case of fraud against an unknown girl in Jind village Govindpura for extorting Rs 80 thousand 800 from a girl on the pretext of earning money by liking her Instagram reel.
In the complaint given to the police, Neha, a resident of Govindpura, said that she had gone with her sister-in-law to Jind's Raj Hospital for treatment on September 23. Then an offer to earn money by liking Instagram reels came on his Telegram ID. She started liking the Instagram reels sent by the message sender as per his instructions. After some time, he told that to earn more money he would have to invest some rupees and gave a UPI ID and asked to transfer Rs 4500 into it. He deposited Rs 4500.
After this, when he was again asked to deposit Rs 4500 more, he transferred it through Google Pay. After this, the accused told through Telegram that the money for the work done by him has been deposited in his wallet but to withdraw the payment, he would like to deposit some rupees. After this, when the accused were again asked to transfer Rs 8800, they transferred Rs 8800 to their given account. After this, Rs 18 thousand were transferred once and Rs 49500 were transferred the second time. Again, he became suspicious about the accused depositing the money and refused to give the money. After this he realized that he had been cheated. According to Neha, the accused have committed a fraud of Rs 80 thousand 800 on the pretext of online task. Cyber police station has registered a case of fraud against unknown person and started investigation.
