Islamabad, September 21 (HS). At least eight security personnel lost their lives in the latest attacks by the banned terrorist organization Tehreek-e-Taliban in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The army's media wing and police have confirmed this. During these attacks, many terrorists are also reported to have been killed in the firing by security personnel.
According to the news of Dawn newspaper, terrorists targeted a post of security forces in Ladha area of South Waziristan. The army's Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed this. Six security personnel and five terrorists were killed in the fierce firing here. ISPR has said that earlier on Thursday, seven terrorists tried to infiltrate the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Spinwam area of North Waziristan district. They were surrounded and killed by the border security forces.
According to police, an intelligence officer was killed in a terrorist attack in Shahdev Khas area of Bannu on Friday. His brother was injured in the attack. The deceased has been identified as Intelligence Bureau Deputy Inspector Sultan Niaz. Earlier on Thursday night, a security officer was killed in firing allegedly from across the border by Afghan forces.
