Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: At least eight people of a family died on Thursday when their pickup truck fell into a gorge in Buner, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, Dawn reported.
Women and children were also among the eight passengers in the truck.

Rescue 1122 spokesperson Niaz Muhammad Khan said the pickup truck was heading towards Shangrai Kandao from Sawri area of Buner when the fatal accident occurred, Dawn reported.
The bodies of the deceased, including five women, two children and a man, were taken to their homes in Shangrai Kandaw, he said.
According to the Rescue 1122 official, either the driver lost control over the steering wheel or there was a technical fault in the pickup, resulting in the vehicle falling off the rough, dilapidated road into a 1600 feet deep gorge.

According to Dawn, the spokesperson identified the dead as residents of the royal village of Shangrai Kandao.
Sub-divisional police officer Amjad Khan said a preliminary report has been lodged at Gul Bandai police station and further investigation will be initiated.
Amjad Khan said that the bodies have been handed over to relatives.
