Mumbai: The historical cannons kept near the entrance of Panvel Municipal Corporation headquarters will get a new shine. This work has been started with a view to technically preserve and enhance these eight cannons and this work is going to be completed within a week.
This cannon was installed at the historical port of Panvel. After research about this cannon by history researchers, these cannons of Shivaji's time were placed in the main building of Panvel Municipal Council to give them an honorable place. Although the municipality was established over time, its location did not change. But due to rusting of these hundreds of years old cannons, the municipality has taken up the task of preserving them by taking advice from experts and giving new shine to these cannons. Earlier, the chemical process of the cannon was completed two years ago.
The help of various history researchers and internship students of the Department of Ecology, University of Mumbai has also been taken to give new shine to the cannon. This work will be completed in the next eight to ten days. Then you can enjoy the improved look of this gun with new tone and more shine.
