Dearness Allowance for Central Government Employees: Central government employees and pensioners are eagerly waiting for the increase in dearness allowance. The central government may soon announce an increase in dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR). Usually the central government revises the dearness allowance in January and July. How much can dearness allowance increase?

While the central government is going to increase the dearness allowance, experts have estimated a 3 percent increase in dearness allowance according to the CPI-IW data. This increase will be made for employees and pensioners under the Seventh Pay Commission, which will be effective from July 24.

How much will the salary increase?

If the government increases the dearness allowance of employees, then the take home salary will increase. If the basic salary of a person is Rs. 55200, then the dearness allowance at 50 percent is Rs. 27600, which will increase by 3 percent to 53 percent i.e. Rs. 29256. The salary of the employees will increase by Rs. 1656 per month.

1 crore employees will get benefit

Central government employees get dearness allowance of 50 per cent of the basic salary. While pensioners get dearness relief of 50 per cent of the basic pension. Earlier, dearness allowance was increased on 7 March 2024. This increase will benefit about 1 crore employees and pensioners. Which is calculated on the basis of inflation. Dearness allowance is determined by the CPI-IW data released by the Ministry of Labor.
