Balodabazar: Seven people were killed and three others injured after lightning struck in Chhattisgarh's Balodabazar-Bhatapara district, officials said in a statement.
The incident took place in the evening in Mohtara village when the victims were working in the fields, district administration officials said in a statement.
According to officials, three injured people have been admitted to the hospital. The deceased have been identified as 20-year-old Mukesh, 30-year-old Tankar Sahu, 40-year-old Santosh Sahu, 18-year-old Thaneshwar Sahu, 38-year-old Pokhraj Vishwakarma, 22-year-old Dev Das and 23-year-old Vijay Sahu. The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh has directed the officials to provide full treatment to the injured. He expressed grief over the deaths.
