According to Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, around 7.64 crore voters can exercise their franchise for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Bihar. Rajiv Kumar told a press conference in Patna on Wednesday that there are 9.26 lakh first-time voters in the age group of 18-19 years in the state.
Out of 7.64 crore voters, 1.6 crore voters are in the age group of 20-29 years.
The Chief Election Commissioner further said that there are 21,680 voters above 100 years of age and out of 7.64 crore voters, 1.6 crore voters are in the age group of 20-29 years and the role of youth will be very important in this election. The Chief Election Commissioner also informed that the number of Persons with Disabilities (PWD) voters in the state is 6.3 lakh.
4 crore male voters and 3.6 crore female voters
The Election Commission also informed that there are 4 crore male voters while 3.6 crore are female voters. He also informed that there are 14.5 lakh senior citizen voters in the state. The CEC also informed in the press conference that the Commission held meetings with representatives of various national political parties in the last two days in the run-up to the general elections. The commission said it removed 16.7 lakh people from the voter list due to death and displacement of voters.
