69 railway stations in Rajasthan will be rejuvenated, passengers will get modern facilities

There is going to be a big change in the railway network of Rajasthan in the beginning of the new year. 69 railway stations will be redeveloped in the state, which will provide better facilities and smooth travel experience to the passengers. Modern facilities will be expanded at 10 major stations of Jaipur division including Khatushyamji and Ringas.

New plan for development of railways: What is special?

The railway administration has planned to modernize small and big railway stations of Rajasthan under the Station Redevelopment Scheme and Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

• Rejuvenation of big and small stations: Now development work will take place not only at big railway stations but also at small roadside stations.
• Railway station for the first time in Khatushyamji: A new railway station will be built in Khatushyamji located near Ringas for the convenience of the devotees.
• 10 stations of Jaipur division: 10 major stations including Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Shivdaspura, Vanasthali Niwai will also be upgraded.

Railway Board Executive Director Veena Kumar Verma and Director Transformation Amber Pratap Singh have issued instructions to all zonal railways for this scheme.

What works will be done at 69 railway stations?

Under this ambitious project, railway stations will be equipped with world class facilities.

Major development works:

• Station Master Office: Creation of modern Station Master Office with more space at every station.
• Multi-storey building: Construction of modern buildings with basement, ground and first floor.
• Special Passenger Facilities: Waiting Area, Ticket Counter, Concourse cum Booking Hall.
• Safety and Convenience: Separate rest rooms for male and female employees.
• Hi-Tech Operation Centre: Air conditioning and modern equipment in the Station Master Panel Room.

Financial Planning:

• Rs 4 to 4.50 crore will be spent on the development of each station.
• The development work of all these 69 railway stations is being monitored by North Western Railways General Manager Amitabh, CAO Ved Prakash and Principal CE GL Goyal.

Khatushyamji Station: Big gift for pilgrims

This will be the first time that a separate railway station will be built at Khatushyamji.

• This station will be developed near Ringas situated on Sikar Line.
• Railway travel will be more convenient for pilgrims.

Small railway stations will also be developed

Railway CPRO Captain Shashi Kiran said that full attention will be given to the development of small railway stations also.

• Expansion of Station Master Office: Now offices equipped with modern facilities with more space will be built at smaller stations.
• Passenger amenities: Waiting lounges, modular toilets, waiting areas and better connectivity.
• Ticketing Counter: Construction of PRS-UTS counter.
• Security: Better lighting and CCTV cameras.

New sections to be developed at railway stations

1. Entrance: Easy entry and exit of passengers on both sides.
2. Station Master Room: AC facility and modern equipment for Station Master.
3. Ticketing: Digital ticketing counter.
4. Waiting Area: Comfortable seating facilities.
5. Toilet: Hygienic modular toilet.

Project monitoring and deadlines

• DK Pandey has been appointed Chief Engineer (Station Development) to monitor this ambitious plan.
• The construction work is targeted to be completed by the end of 2025.
