Ramgarh, 13 November (Hindustan Reporter). The voting process was completed in a peaceful atmosphere in Barkagaon Assembly on Wednesday. Till 5 pm, 68.08 percent voters have exercised their franchise. The fate of 26 candidates of this assembly is sealed in EVMs.
DC Chandan Kumar said in a press conference on Wednesday that 2 lakh 62 thousand 820 people voted in a peaceful atmosphere at all 456 booths. There was neither any disturbance at any booth nor did anyone try to disrupt the voting process. Neither any primary has been registered nor any person has been arrested during the elections.
He said that 6 percent more voters have exercised their franchise in this assembly election as compared to the previous assembly. In the 2019 assembly elections, 64 percent voters had cast their votes in Barkagaon assembly.
Most votes were cast in Keredari and least in Tandwa block.
DC said that if seen at the block level, maximum 74.40 percent voters cast their votes in Keredari block. After this, 72 percent voters cast their votes in Barkagaon block, 63.81 percent in Patratu block and 57.38 percent in Tandwa block.
DC said that the reasons behind increase in voting percentage were Voter Awareness Programme, local issues and peace created in the area.
