640 liquor shops will open in this district of Punjab, this is the last date of application

Jalandhar: A total of 640 liquor vends will be opened in Jalandhar district during the financial year 2024-25. There will be 296 liquor concessions within the corporation limits and 344 liquor concessions in rural areas of the district.

For allotment of liquor groups, the groups along with the goods have been displayed on Monday, the list of which has been put in the excise office.

According to the information given by Paramjeet Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar Zone of Excise Department, 44 in Guraya Group of rural areas, 33 in Phillaur, 46 in Nakodar, 63 in Shahkot, 58 in Nurmahal, 48 in Adampur and Bhogpur groups. There will be 52 liquor vends.

Contracts will be opened in these areas of the corporation

Under the limits of the Municipal Corporation, there are 22 in Rama Mandi Group, 17 in Sodal Chowk, 17 in Lam Village, 18 in Railway Station, 20 in Kapurthala Chowk, 16 in BMC Chowk, 23 in Paragpur, 19 in PPR, 19 in PPR. Model Town. 23 liquor shops will be opened in Wadala Chowk, 28 in Avtar Nagar, 26 in Leather Complex, 18 in Reru Chowk and 30 in Maqsudan Group.

DC Excise Paramjeet Singh said that an amount of Rs 35 crore has been fixed for all groups of liquor with a 15 percent deduction. In such a situation, the average price of liquor groups can be Rs 30 to 40 crore.

The revenue reserved for liquor clusters of Jalandhar district is expected to generate Rs 795.85 crore. However, income from elven, bar license and other types of fees will add to this income.

Contractors willing to allot liquor groups can apply for liquor groups till March 17, for which the list of goods and contracts to be opened has also been uploaded on the website of the office and department.

Under Excise Jalandhar Zone, allotment of liquor groups in Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur and Kapurthala range will be different from District Jalandhar. A total revenue target of Rs 2882.77 crore has been set from Jalandhar zone.

This time the size of liquor clusters has been reduced, which has brought relief to the contractors, because -Paramjit Singh, DC Excise reserve price has also been reduced. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the liquor contractors regarding the new excise policy of the state and it is expected that before March 17, liquor contractors will apply in large numbers.
