New Delhi, 3 October (Hindustan Reporter). The percentage of voting in the three phases conducted in Jammu and Kashmir was 63.88 percent, breaking all previous records. A total of 69.69 percent voting took place in the third phase. The voting percentage of women on 40 seats in this phase has been higher than that of men. In the recent Lok Sabha elections, there was 58.58 percent voting in the state.
Voting for 90 seats of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly was held on 18 and 25 September and 1 October. The Election Commission released the final voting figures on Thursday. According to this, 69.37 percent men and 70.02 percent women voted in the third phase. In the total voting held in Jammu and Kashmir, the voting percentage of men was 64.68 percent and that of women was 63.04 percent.
The highest turnout in the third phase was in Madh (SC) assembly constituency at 81.34 percent. There was 80.34 percent voting in Chhamb Assembly. The lowest turnout was in Sopore and Baramulla at 45.3 and 53.90 percent respectively. The voting percentage has been more than 70 in about 21 assembly constituencies.
