61.90 percent voting in three Lok Sabha seats of Jharkhand

Ranchi, May 20 (HS). The voting process was completed on Monday in the by-elections for three Lok Sabha seats of Jharkhand, Chatra, Hazaribagh, Koderma and Gandey assembly seat. Till 5 pm, 61.90 percent voting took place. The highest voting percentage was 64 percent in Hazaribagh. After this, Koderma was at second place with 61.60 percent while Chatra was at third place with 60.26 percent.

Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Neha Arora said that based on the information received till 5 pm, 60.26 percent voting took place in Chatra Lok Sabha constituency, 61.60 percent voting took place in Koderma Lok Sabha constituency and 64 percent voting took place in Hazaribagh Lok Sabha constituency, while 66.45 percent voting took place in the by-election on Gandey Assembly seat. Percentage voting took place. Voting on these seats started at seven in the morning and continued till five in the evening.

Fate of candidates captured in EVM

There is a contest on Hazaribagh seat between BJP's Manish Jaiswal and Congress's JP Patel. In Koderma, it is between Annapurna Devi (BJP) and Vinod Singh (CPI-ML), while in Chatra, BJP's Kalicharan Singh and Congress's KN Tripathi are face to face. Apart from this, the reputation of Hemant Soren's wife Kalpana Soren and BJP's Dilip Verma is at stake in the Gandey by-election. With the voting on Monday, their fate was sealed in the EVMs. Now the decision will be taken only after counting of votes on June 4.
