600 rupees fee has been fixed for dengue test in private pathology

Varanasi, 25 July (HS). Now private pathology labs will not be able to do arbitrary tests for dengue infection. The Health Ministry has fixed the minimum rates for the tests. In this regard, detailed guidelines have been issued in all the states and union territories including Uttar Pradesh. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sandeep Chaudhary gave this information on Thursday. Citing the letter of the Ministry, he said that a maximum rate of Rs 600 has been fixed for testing dengue disease in private pathology centers.

If any lab arbitrarily charges high fees, action will be taken against it as per the rules. He said that often private pathology centre owners charge high amount from patients for dengue tests, which creates a state of fear among the general public. In view of this, guidelines have been issued to keep the rate of dengue testing in private pathology to a minimum.
