Fire in baby care centre: 6 children have died in a fire at a baby care centre in Vivek Vihar, Delhi. The fire broke out at the baby care centre on Saturday night. According to fire officer Rajendra Atwal, the fire was brought under control with the help of 16 fire tenders. The firefighters managed to save 11 newborn babies.
Officials say 11 newborns were rescued from the infant care center but six died during treatment in the hospital. Six people, including a child, who was a victim of the accident, are on ventilators.
Delhi Fire Service says that at 11:32 pm that night, a fire broke out in a children's centre in Vivek Vihar area of East Delhi. After this, eight fire brigade vehicles were sent to the spot. However, the cause of the fire has not been ascertained yet.
DCP Shahdara's statement has come out on the fire in Vivek Vihar Baby Care Center. He said that appropriate action will be taken against the hospital owner Naveen Kichi, who lives in Bharon Enclave of Paschim Vihar.
