Bangladesh cricket team is preparing for the test series against South Africa. Bangla Tigers will play a 2-Test series against South Africa at home from October 21. The second match will be played from 29th October. Before this series, former veteran Pakistani player Mushtaq Ahmed has entered the Bangladesh cricket team. He is all set to take up an important position in the Bangladesh cricket team.
Entry into Bangladesh team
Bangladesh Cricket Board has made a major change in its coaching staff for the Test series against South Africa. 54-year-old former Pakistan player Mushtaq Ahmed has joined the Bangladesh cricket team as a spin bowling consultant. Mushtaq Ahmed was also with the team during the T20 World Cup 2024 and Pakistan tour. But he was not with the team on the India tour. Mushtaq was seen with the Bangladesh team at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on 19 October. Meanwhile he spent time with the team.
Bangladesh recently faced defeat in the 2-Test series played against India. Apart from this, Bangladesh also had to face 3-0 defeat in the T20 series. However, now Bangla Tigers have started preparations to win the series against Africa.
Who is Mushtaq Ahmed?
54 year old Mushtaq Ahmed made his Test debut for Pakistan in 1989. He has taken 185 wickets in 52 Test matches for Pakistan, while he has bowled 161 batsmen in 144 ODI matches. Mushtaq Ahmed last played for Pakistan in 2003. After this he has been continuously a part of the coaching setup.
