Nainital, September 3 (HS). A bell weighing about 51 kg was stolen last night from the Bhumiya temple located in Naina village near the lake city. The villagers are shocked by this. The villagers say that till now the thieves were stealing motorcycles from the area. Now they have started targeting the goods kept in the temples as well. This has caused great anger among the people of the area.
The angry villagers reached the police station on Tuesday morning to meet Tallital SHO Ramesh Bora and demanded that the thieves be caught soon. He said that in the past too, incidents of theft have taken place in the area many times, in which gas cylinders, solar energy light batteries, motorcycles and other items including urns from the temple have been stolen from people's houses. Written complaints of these were given at Jyoalikot outpost. The villagers allege that the police have not patrolled the area till date, due to which the courage of the thieves is increasing. They demanded the SHO to catch the thieves soon. SHO Ramesh Bora assured that the case will be exposed soon.
