Katihar, 05 September (HS). Shaheed Jagdev Vichar Manch, Katihar celebrated the 50th martyrdom day of Shaheed Jagdev Prasad. On this occasion, Katihar Mayor Usha Agarwal, JDU District President Suraj Rai, Rashtriya Lok Morcha District President Umakant Anand and many other dignitaries paid tribute to Shaheed Jagdev Prasad.
Mayor Usha Agarwal said that Shaheed Jagdev Prasad was a leader of the exploited and deprived society and he is also known as Bihar Lenin. JDU District President Suraj Rai said that the contribution of Shaheed Jagdev Prasad to the exploited and deprived society can never be forgotten.
RLMO District President Umakant Anand told about the life and struggles of Shaheed Jagdev Prasad. He said that Shaheed Jagdev Prasad was born on 02 February 1922 in Jehanabad district and he used to fight against wrong since childhood. He raised his voice against feudalism and while fighting for the rights of the exploited and deprived society, on this day, 05 September 1974, he was sitting on a peaceful dharna in Kurtha block headquarters of Jehanabad, at the same time he was shot dead by some feudal forces. Today we remember him and take inspiration from his biography and pledge to follow the path shown by him.
Mainly Rajendra Mehta, Vindeshwar Singh, Singheshwar Singh, Prabhash Kushwaha, Dilip Rai, Satish Sinha, Ashok Singh, Satendra Kushwaha, Rajaram Mahato, Dharmendra Singh, Bablu Kushwaha, Pramod Singh, Vishnudev Yadav, Rajkamal Yadav, Pappu Kumar, Sachchidanand Patel, Raju Singh, Rajiv Ranjan Verma, Chandan Singh, Chhotu Chauhan, Sanjay Singh, Ajay Thakur, Rupesh Kushwaha, Jaiswal, Pramod Chaudhary etc. were present on this occasion.
