500 children will get the benefit of sponsorship scheme in East Champaran district

East Champaran, 09 July (HS). A big step has been taken by the state government to nurture and care for the orphaned children of poor families in the district. Under which 500 children will get the benefit of the sponsorship scheme. Earlier, only 41 children were to be given the benefit of this scheme under East Champaran district. Various teams are to be formed from the District Child Protection Unit and by running awareness campaigns in all the blocks, applications of interested beneficiaries are to be collected and made available to the District Child Protection Unit.

For this, all Anganwadi centers, Block Executive Assistants, all Child Development Project Officers, and Child Line employees have been directed by the concerned office to encourage maximum number of people to apply to avail the benefits of this scheme. The benefit of this scheme can be given through DBT in the form of Rs. 4000 per month in the joint bank account of the applicant for 3 years or till the age of 18 years is completed.
