50% subsidy on electricity bill: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave a big relief to the poor electricity consumers of the state on his birthday. Now consumers consuming up to 100 units of electricity will get 50 percent subsidy.
In the high Himalayan regions, this standard will be up to 200 units. Consumers with electricity load up to one kilowatt will be eligible for this facility. About 11.50 lakh consumers of the state will benefit from this scheme.
Chief Minister Dhami made this announcement in a program organized at Mukhya Sevak Sadan on his birthday. He launched the work of installing 16 lakh smart meters under the centrally funded RDSS scheme of Energy Corporation in Garhwal and Kumaon region.
Under the ADB assisted Uttarakhand Climate Resilient Power System Development Project, the work of undergrounding the power lines of the main roads of Dehradun city was inaugurated by showing green flag. An amount of about 977 crores will be spent on this.
The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of five ADB funded projects of Pitkul. These include construction work of 220 kV GIS substation Selaqui and related line, construction work of 132 kV GIS substation Araghar and related line, construction work of 132 kV GIS substation Lohaghat and related line.
This includes construction work of 132 kV GIS Substation Dhaulakheda and related line and construction work of 132 kV GIS Substation Khatima II and related line. He handed over possession letters and keys to 101 beneficiaries of Laxmi Awas Yojna Shikarpur, Roorkee, constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (Urban) in Haridwar district.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Dhami said that the government is working rapidly in every field for the sustainable development of the state. The power projects whose foundation stone was laid will further improve power supply and distribution. Employment will also increase due to promotion of industries.
The economy of the state will be strengthened. Smart meters will strengthen the energy supply system and the billing related problems of the common man will be resolved. The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is continuously moving ahead on the path of development.
Cabinet Minister Premchand Aggarwal said that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken many steps in the interest of the people of the state on his birthday. Since taking charge, the Chief Minister has created a new work culture in the state.
Many major works are being carried out during the tenure of the Chief Minister, among which undergrounding of power lines in Dehradun at a cost of Rs. 977 crore is also an important work.
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, Rekha Arya, Rajya Sabha member and BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt, Rajya Sabha member Dr. Kalpana Saini, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Energy Secretary Dr. R Meenakshi Sundaram, Energy Corporation MD Anil Kumar, Pitkul MD PC Dhyani and other concerned officials were present.
