A British court has sentenced 5 people of Indian origin to 122 years in prison for the murder of a person. These people were found guilty of the murder of a 23-year-old delivery driver of Indian origin. In August last year, local West Mercia police were alerted to an attack in Shrewsbury, western England. The police reached the spot and found a person named Oram Singh dead on the spot. Police have arrested four people on suspicion of murder.
Arshdeep Singh (24), Jagdeep Singh (23), Shivdeep Singh (27) and Manjot Singh (24) were later found guilty of murder using an axe, hockey stick and shovel. Each was sentenced to 28 years in prison. A fifth person of Indian origin, 24-year-old Sukhmandeep Singh, is also believed to be involved in the murder conspiracy. He was found guilty of providing information about Orman and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Detective Chief Inspector (DCI) Mark Bellamy of West Mercia Police, who led the murder investigation, said: “I am pleased that these men have been given significant sentences for the brutal murder of Orman Singh. These five people are dangerous individuals who will now spend ample time in jail where they can no longer harm the public.
Orman's family said no words can express their grief. In a statement issued by the police, the family said, “Today a mother will grow old without her son. A sister will grow up without her brother. We do not want what happened to us to happen to any other family. This is an unbearable loss for us which has changed our lives.
