Raipur, 27 August (HS). A meeting of the District Water and Sanitation Mission Committee under Jal Jeevan Mission was held at the Joint District Office on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Balodabazar Collector Deepak Soni. The collector has taken action to blacklist 5 contractors due to slow progress in work.
Which includes Soumitra Construction Janjgir, Parijata Construction Janjgir, Rekhchand Agarwal Raipur, Raghav Construction Janjgir and Sunil Agarwal Baradwara. The said firms were not able to improve their work despite repeated warnings and notices, due to which strict action has been taken.
Along with this, permission has been granted to about 70 construction companies for 190 works in the district by increasing the time of their work with penalty. The collector said clearly that negligence of any kind will not be tolerated in Jal Jeevan Mission. He said that before starting work under Jal Jeevan Mission, the engineers should ensure that there is availability of water source in the concerned village. Do not allow any work to start without availability of water source. All engineers should monitor the work being done by the contractor and keep following up continuously for progress. Along with the work of laying the pipeline, start the work of tank construction as well so that all the work can be completed on time.
He said that in the places where there is problem of water source and electricity, visit the site and investigate. He also instructed the officials to do necessary coordination in the matter of Sarpanches not showing interest in taking over after completion of the work. Taking seriously the situation of leaving the pits dug for laying the pipeline open, the Collector instructed the contractors to get the pits filled again. Along with this, in the Gram Panchayats where the work of Jal Jeevan Mission is being done, instructions have been given to the concerned officials to ensure 100% running water supply in 100% Gram Panchayats, hostels, schools, hospitals, Anganwadi centers.
Along with this, the collector has praised the work being done by the department for the construction of water tanks and the Har Ghar Jal Yojana. According to the information received by the district office, a total of 616 water tanks have been approved in a total of 736 villages of the district. Out of which the construction of 263 water tanks has been completed and the construction of 336 water tanks is in progress. Within the next one month, about 100 water tanks will be completely ready.
