4G Khelo India University Games: Madhya Pradesh players won three medals

Bhopal, 24 February (HS). 4G Khelo India University Games 2023 is being organized from 17 February to 29 February 2024 in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Sikkim, Nagaland and Tripura. Players from Madhya Pradesh have won three medals in the Khelo India University Games on Saturday. Archery and wrestling players won these medals.

Archery: Archery players of Madhya Pradesh, Amit Kumar and Krutika Bichpuriya, won a gold medal by performing excellently in archery in the 70m recurve mix event. Both the players are representing Rani Durgavati University, Jabalpur in the competition. The team of Kurukshetra University stood second and the team of MSG University stood third.

Wrestling results: Madhya Pradesh State Sports Academy's wrestler Hariom Puri earned a silver medal by showing good sports performance in the 63 kg Greco-Roman event. Hariom Puri is representing Rabindra Nath Tagore University, Raisen in the competition. Apart from this, player Pradeep Mann of LNIPE, Gwalior also won bronze medal in wrestling.

Women and men hockey team in the final of the competition

On Saturday, the semi-final match of hockey in the women's category was played between ITM University, Gwalior Madhya Pradesh and Punjabi University. In this exciting semi-final match of the women's hockey team, the ITM University Gwalior team gave a crushing 2-0 defeat to the Punjabi University team and maintained its hopes of entering the final of the competition and getting a medal. In this match Gurmel and Anchal Sahu scored 1 goal each.

At the same time, the hockey semi-final in the men's category held on Saturday was played between Rabindranath Tagore University, Raisen, Madhya Pradesh and Chandigarh University, Punjab. In this tough and exciting match to enter the final, the team of Rabindranath Tagore University Raisen entered the final by defeating Chandigarh University Punjab in the tiebreaker by a margin of 3-2 goals. Amid Khan, Ankit Pal and Sundaram Singh Rajawat scored 1 goal each in the competition.
