Rain in Gujarat: Monsoon has knocked in Gujarat. Megharaj, who has been wiping out South Gujarat and Saurashtra since last week, is now showering his blessings on North Gujarat. Today, there has been ubiquitous rain in North Gujarat. Especially in Banaskantha, Lakhani taluk has received up to 10 and a half inches of rain during the day as Barre Megh Khanga has been there. According to the data released by the Gandhinagar-based State Emergency Operations Center, 170 talukas of the state received rain today. Out of which 46 talukas received more than 1 inch of rain, 12 talukas received more than 2 inches of rain, 7 talukas received more than 3 inches of rain. Ahmedabad city received about 1.25 inches of rain during the day.
If we look at the rainfall data in the two-hour period from 8 pm to 10 pm, it has rained in 15 talukas during this period. Out of which Kapadwanj in Kheda district has received more than 1 inch of rain. Apart from this, Lunawada in Mahisagar received 19 mm of rain and Kathlal in Kheda received 12 mm of rain.
Heavy rain in Lakhani disrupts life
Heavy rains in Lakhani of Banaskantha district have disrupted life since this morning. Today, 10.5 inches of rain fell during the day, which has caused waterlogging. Due to heavy rains, the fields have turned into bats.
