Piyush Goyal suggested India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) to consider organizing two annual editions of the trade fair and making it biennial.
He said that there is a need to consider organizing big international exhibitions like Bharat Mobility and World Food Fair, so that the entire industry can be gathered at one place. Goyal said the government plans to expand the India Trade Promotion Organization into a world-class agency that will represent the entire industry and value chain at one place, so that the world sees India as the best MICE destination.
He said the Center is considering places like Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Lucknow, Varanasi and Noida to expand these facilities. Reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve to dedicate every decision of the Government to the goal of a Developed India, the Commerce Minister expressed happiness that the theme of IITF 2024 is based on the idea of Developed India 2047. Goyal asked ITPO to also consider starting India fairs in other parts of the world like America, Europe, Japan, South Korea and West Asian countries. It is noteworthy that ITPO currently organizes its flagship 14-day India International Trade Fair (ITPO) in November every year. This time the theme of the fair is ‘Developed India by 2047’. ITPO is the premier trade promotion enterprise of the Ministry of Commerce. More than 3,500 exhibitors from India and abroad are expected to participate in this fair.
