43 people died in Uttar Pradesh and 21 in Bihar due to lightning

Weather Update: 43 people died due to lightning in Uttar Pradesh, while 21 people died in a similar incident in Bihar on Friday. In such a situation, the question arises that why the incidents of electric shock are increasing. Experts say that such incidents are increasing due to climate change.

Meanwhile, Jaipur, Jhalawar, Bharatpur districts of Rajasthan received heavy to very heavy rains in 24 hours. Gangadhar district of Jhalawar district received 87 mm of rain. Heavy rains also occurred in Uttar Pradesh, during which 43 people died in a single day due to lightning. A day earlier on Friday, there were incidents of electrocution at many places in Bihar. Due to this, people are becoming increasingly worried about incidents of lightning in both these states.

Madhavan Nair Rajeev, former secretary of the Union Ministry of Earth Sciences, said that due to climate change, the number of clouds responsible for lightning is increasing. And due to this, the frequency of thunderstorms is also increasing everywhere including India. Lightning occurs due to dense clouds with large surface area. The number of such clouds is increasing due to water and air changes i.e. global warming.
