42 Arogya Doots honored for making students of government schools mentally healthy

Palamu, March 9 (Hindustan Reporter) A program was organized to honor the Health Ambassador on Saturday under the School Health Program at IMA Bhawan, Sadar Hospital Chowk, Daltonganj. This event was organized by the National Adolescent Health Program Cell under the Department of School Education and Literacy under the initiative of Ayushman Bharat. In the programme, two Arogya Doot teachers (male and female) from 21 blocks were honored for their work.

It was said on the occasion that the aim of the School Health and Welfare Department is to provide basic information, knowledge, psychological and educational support related to education, health and welfare to the school going children. To achieve this goal, two teachers each in the schools running from classes 6 to 12 in the district have been given training as Arogya Doot. Arogya Mitra is giving information about 16 themes to the students. Of these, 113 have been kept by the Center and three by the Jharkhand government. Arogya Mitra is engaged in making the students mentally healthy in the respective schools. Mentor Jaya Kumari, who trained Arogya Doot, explained in detail about the scheme.
