Sonipat, July 13 (HS). Traffic Police Sonipat challaned 415 heavy vehicles for violating the rules of lane driving (left lane) to ensure road safety. According to the police spokesperson, this special campaign was launched on the instructions of Director General of Police Shatrujit Singh Kapoor and Inspector General of Police Traffic and Highways, Hardeep Singh Doon. On Saturday, Deputy Commissioner of Police Headquarters and Traffic Manbir Singh has designated the left lane for heavy vehicles to ensure road safety and smooth movement of vehicles. The purpose of this campaign was to make drivers aware and ensure compliance with the rules under Part 5 of Section 4 of the Motor Vehicles Act-2017.

It was ensured that all heavy vehicles and speed restricted vehicles travel in the left lane within their prescribed speed limit, so that road accidents can be avoided and no driver has to face difficulty while overtaking. Manbir Singh appealed to the drivers to travel within the prescribed speed limit and in the left lane. This will reduce road accidents. This campaign will continue in future also so that road safety can be ensured and drivers can get a safe travel environment. In compliance with the instructions, the team of SHO Traffic Inspector Jagdish Kumar challaned 415 heavy vehicles keeping in mind road safety and the safety of common citizens.
