UP Varanasi News: A shocking incident has come to light in Malhiya village of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Here forty unmarried girls were declared pregnant by the Ministry of Women and Child Development. All these girls were registered as pregnant and included in the nutrition tracker.

The ministry sent a message to the village girls saying, Congratulations, your child has been successfully registered in the nutrition tracker and you can get information about various services like breastfeeding guidance, growth measurement, drip etc. from the Anganwadi centre.

When these messages of pregnancy came on the girls' mobile phones, the girls and their families were surprised. Later, with the help of the Sarpanch, a complaint was made to the Chief Development Officer (CDO). Due to which investigation of the entire matter was started. Investigation revealed that due to the mistake of an Anganwadi worker, this message reached about 40 girls.

CDO ordered investigation

CDO Himanshu Nagpal said that the incident happened due to human error. He has conducted an investigation and ordered strict action against the culprits. The CDO has got the investigation done whether the nutrition store has been operated regularly in the name of this fake registration or not.

How did the incident happen?

According to the CDO, Anganwadi workers were also working as BLOs along with distributing ration to pregnant women and small children. While working together, both of them accidentally made mistakes in the water ID card forms of girls above 18 years of age and registered them on the portal as pregnant.
