At least 41 people died in a fire in a building in the southern Kuwaiti city of Mangaf. The fire in the six-storey building on Wednesday morning spread panic in the neighborhood. However, according to information, at least four Indians have also died in this tragic incident. 40 people lost their lives in the entire incident. The fire department took action after the incident.
The six-storey building houses a large population of Malayalams from the southern part of India. Two of the deceased were from Tamil Nadu and two from North India. However, official confirmation from the authorities is still pending.
The injured were taken to hospital
According to a statement issued by Kuwait's Health Ministry, all the injured people, some of whom are in critical condition, have been rushed to several nearby hospitals for treatment. The ministry said medical teams are making all efforts to provide proper medical care to those injured in the fire in the building.
An atmosphere of fear was created
According to reports, a fire broke out in the kitchen of the labour camp at 4.30 am on Wednesday. Some people died after jumping out of their apartments on seeing the fire, while others died of burns and suffocation due to smoke. The fire was so fierce that the entire building was burnt to ashes.
