4 big Global Capability Centers to open in Noida: Yogi Cabinet gives green signal to GCC projects worth ₹1,710 crore

The Yogi Adityanath government has taken a historic step towards establishing Uttar Pradesh as a leading technological and industrial hub on the country and world map. In the cabinet meeting held in Lucknow, official approval was given to the proposals to establish four huge Global Capability Centers in Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) under the Uttar Pradesh Global Capability Center (GCC) Policy-2024. Through these four industrial units, the way has been paved for huge capital investment of a total of ₹ 1,709.84 crore (approximately ₹ 1,710 crore) in the state. The Cabinet has formally approved issuing ‘Letter of Comfort’ (LoC) to all these companies. With this mega approval, Noida is going to emerge as a major center of global technological services, financial operations and cutting-edge research not only at the national level but also at the international level like Silicon Valley.

The total investment of ₹1,709.84 crore approved includes ambitious projects from domestic and multinational giants, the detailed financial details of which are as follows:

  • 1. Havells India Limited (₹879 crore): The largest investment proposal has been made by the famous consumer electricals company Havells India Limited. The company will set up its hi-tech center in Gautam Buddha Nagar under New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (Noida) by investing ₹879 crore. The state government has decided to provide policy financial and non-financial incentives to the company on a case-to-case basis.

  • 2. LG Soft India Private Limited (₹634 crore): A proposal for investment of ₹634 crore by LG Soft India, a subsidiary of electronics and technology giant LG Group, has been approved. This center will also be set up in Noida Authority area and will also be given incentive package on case-to-case basis.

  • 3. Ameriprise India LLP (₹112.84 crore): Global financial services provider Ameriprise India has proposed an investment of ₹112.84 crore. This project will take shape in the ‘Embassy Oxygen Business Park’ developed on private land located in Sector-144 of Gautam Buddha Nagar.

  • 4. MetLife Global Operations Support Center (₹84 crore): The global support arm of international insurance and finance major MetLife will invest ₹84 crore. Their proposed project will also be started on the private land of Embassy Oxygen Business Park located in Noida.

Global Capability Centers (GCCs) are modern units of any multinational or Fortune 500 company from which the most critical technical, engineering and strategic functions of their global business operate. Unlike traditional BPO or call centres, GCC performs complex intellectual work like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, Data Analytics, Financial Modeling, Core Software Engineering and Advanced R&D. The commissioning of these four GCC centers will create a very mature and modern ‘Global Services Ecosystem’ in Uttar Pradesh on the lines of Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune. This will not only increase the confidence of multinational companies in the administrative functioning of UP, but will also give new impetus to the digital economy of the state.

The biggest and direct benefit of this mega project is going to be given to the talented youth of the state, IT professionals and technical graduates. Till now, top engineers, chartered accountants, data scientists and software professionals coming out of Lucknow, Noida, Kanpur, Prayagraj and Purvanchal had to move to Bengaluru, Gurugram or abroad for high-paying jobs. The establishment of these four global centers will create thousands of high-skilled white-collar jobs directly in Gautam Buddha Nagar. This will not only prevent brain drain but will also create huge indirect livelihood opportunities at the local level in supporting sectors like real estate, hospitality, retail, transport and startups.

According to Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna, to make Uttar Pradesh an internationally competitive investment destination, ‘Uttar Pradesh Global Capability Center Policy-2024’ was notified on May 7, 2025, after which its detailed implementation rules were implemented in January 2026. Under this policy, investors are being guaranteed stamp duty exemption, capital subsidy, payroll incentives and seamless single-window clearance. After the deliberations of the high level authorized committee held on July 10, 2026 under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, the formal approval of the Cabinet has now been given. With its world-class expressway network, proximity to Jewar International Airport, strong law and order and excellent metro connectivity, Noida has established itself as India’s most preferred GCC hub.
