4.3 magnitude earthquake in Ladakh, people came out of their homes, no damage

Earthquake in Ladakh: Earthquake tremors were felt in Ladakh today (18 December) at around 4 pm. Due to which the people of the area got scared and ran out of their houses. However, due to the low intensity of the earthquake, there was no loss of life or property. Earthquakes are not new in sensitive geographical areas like Ladakh. The region lies on the Himalayan tectonic plates, where mild and moderate earthquakes are frequently recorded.

The National Center for Seismology (NCS) said the earthquake’s intensity was measured at 4.3 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was said to be 10 kilometers below the ground in the Leh-Ladakh region. The earthquake was reported at 4:23 pm.
