36 people lost their lives in Uttarakhand, their bodies were scattered everywhere due to a bus accident in the valley.

Road accident in Uttarakhand: A horrific road accident has occurred in Almora, Uttarakhand. 36 people have died in an accident when a bus fell into a valley near Marchula. While there are reports of many people being injured. Local police and SDRF team have reached the spot for rescue work.

According to media sources, a bus going from Naini Danda to Ramnagar suddenly fell into the valley this morning. 36 people died in this bus which overturned on the banks of Geet Jagir river. While many people are injured. Rescue operation is still going on. There were more than 50 passengers in this 42 seater bus. At the time of the accident, some passengers jumped from the window to save their lives. The injured have been sent to the hospital. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami discussed Almora bus accident with Disaster Management, Almora DM over phone and took information about the incident. He also directed to carry out rescue and relief work expeditiously.

The cause of this bus accident is not yet known. Initially it has been revealed that the accident occurred due to the bus driver losing control. The bus fell into a 100 feet deep gorge. Considering the seriousness of the incident, the death toll is expected to increase.

Chief Minister announced compensation

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami, while announcing relief compensation for those killed in the Almora bus accident, said that Rs 4 lakh each will be given to the families of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh each to the injured. Commissioner Kumaon Division has also ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident.
