3,000 devotees waiting at holding points in Haridwar, Rishikesh | Live Updates, Unveiling the Latest India News Trends

Pilgrims from different states of the country are reaching Uttarakhand to visit Chardham including Badrinath-Kedarnath. But in view of the huge crowd of pilgrims, the government has suspended offline registration till May 31. 3,000 pilgrims are present at the holding points of Rishikesh and Haridwar. All the pilgrims are returning safely from Chardham. In view of the ever increasing number of devotees, the head of the concerned district located in Chardham has been instructed to identify new places for investment and develop parking facilities. The District Head has also been instructed to cooperate with the National Tour Operators for the successful management of Chardham Yatra and to increase communication with the District Head and administration of the states of the country from where the maximum number of pilgrims come.

Crowds gathered for registration

On getting the information about the start of registration for Chardham Yatra, a crowd of pilgrims gathered at the Haridwar Tourism Department office on Tuesday. They started insisting on going to Chardham. The crowd remained for three hours. The pilgrims left the office only after getting the information about the special registration. After this, special registration of the stranded pilgrims was done after checking the receipts of hotels and inns. On Monday, with the help of this special registration, 2010 pilgrims were sent for Chardham Yatra. On Tuesday also, pilgrims with similar receipts were sent for Chardham Yatra.

Instructions for making full proof arrangements for online registration

On Tuesday, the Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand reached Rishikesh to inspect the travel arrangements. Emphasizing the need for collective efforts to make the Chardham Yatra better and smooth, he urged to find a permanent solution to the problem with the help of technology. The Chief Secretary directed the officials to develop a foolproof online registration system for the convenience of the pilgrims.
