Navsari 09 November (HIST). Three people were burnt alive in a massive fire that broke out on Saturday morning in a transport warehouse near Devsar in Ganadevi tehsil of Navsari district of Gujarat, while three others were seriously burnt and have been taken to the hospital. Some other people are also said to be trapped in the fire. Seeing the magnitude of the fire, fire brigade vehicles from Bilimora, Ganadevi, Navsari and Chikhali are busy extinguishing the fire on the spot.
On Saturday morning, a chemical drum was being emptied from a truck in the transport warehouse near Devsar, Ganadevi. Meanwhile, the fire broke out with the sound of explosion. Due to this, three workers who were emptying the drums got caught in the fire due to which they died on the spot while three people got burnt in the fire and have been admitted to a nearby hospital. Currently, information has been received that 3 more people are trapped in the fire.
Regarding the incident, Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhagirath Singh Gohil said that after getting information about the incident, police and fire brigade teams have reached the spot. He told that the fire broke out while emptying the chemical barrels (drums) from the truck. Due to the chemical spilling on the ground, the fire spread rapidly and became huge. The fire has come under control. Three bodies have been removed from the scene and three people are injured. One person among them is seriously injured and has been taken to Valsad.
