Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Three buses of security forces going from Gopalganj to Supaul met with an accident. The bus driver and two constables died in the accident.
More than 12 soldiers were seriously injured. The incident took place on NH-27 near Barhima turn of Sidhwalia police station area of the district.
As soon as information about the incident was received, the health department sent five ambulances and a team of doctors to the spot. After the accident, Sadar Hospital was alerted and the injured are being brought to the hospital by ambulance.
It is being told that 242 male and female district force personnel were going to Supaul in three buses from the police line for election duty. Sidhwalia had reached near Barhima police station area when the accident happened.
On the way, the bus stopped near Barhima turn and everyone was having breakfast when it was hit by a speeding container from behind. Ashok Oran, Digvijay Kumar and Pawan Mahato died in this accident.
More than 12 dozen policemen are seriously injured. It is being told that the accident was so painful that a soldier got stuck between the two buses and efforts to save him continued for hours.
Taking cognizance of the incident, Gopalganj SP Swarna Prabhat and DM Mohammad Maqsood Alam said that relief and rescue work is being done on a war footing at the incident site. DM and SP are continuously monitoring the treatment of the injured.
After this accident there was chaos at Barhima turn. A crowd had gathered on the road. Traffic was beginning to be affected. Meanwhile, police from the local police station reached the spot and controlled the situation. All the injured soldiers have been sent to Sadar Hospital in Gopalganj for treatment.
Gopalganj SP said that a vehicle of Gopalganj police force going to Supaul for the third phase of voting collided with a container near Barihama market of Sidhwalia police station area.
In which three policemen (Digvijay Kumar, Ashok Kumar Oran of Purna and Pawan Mahato of Bettiah) were martyred. More than 12 policemen were injured. Everyone has been admitted to the hospital. The container has been seized and further action is being taken.
