Bikaner, June 28 (HS). The 27th Academic Council meeting of the Veterinary University was held on Friday under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Satish K. Garg. At the beginning of the meeting, Vice Chancellor Prof. Garg welcomed all the members of the Academic Council and after discussing all the points of the last meeting, the work compliance was approved unanimously.
In the meeting, the proposal to start a two-year diploma course in animal husbandry from the session 2024-25 in the Veterinary College, Jodhpur, a constituent of the Veterinary University, was considered and approved. The council approved the proposal to include the students of B.V.Sc. & A.H., PG. and Ph.D. whose results have been declared till June 30 in the seventh convocation of the university and award them degrees.
In the meeting, the proposal to fill the registration cards of various subjects by the students through online modules in each semester in postgraduate and PhD courses was also approved. The Academic Council discussed and approved the proposal to allow admission twice a year as per the UGC rules on the basis of the score of the students in the entrance examination conducted by ICAR for postgraduate and PhD courses so that the deprived seats can be refilled.
Apart from this, proposals regarding compulsory 75% attendance for students to appear in exams, fixing time and fee for late registration in dairy colleges were also discussed in the meeting. Agendas were presented in the meeting by Registrar Bindu Khatri and various agendas were approved by the members of Academic Council. Finance Controller B.L. Sarva, Prof. A.P. Singh, Prof. Hemant Dadhich, Prof. R.K. Dhuriya, Prof. S.K. Sharma, Dr. S.P. Joshi, Dr. Suchismita Chatterjee, Prof. Urmila Panu, Prof. Basant Bais, Prof. B.N. Shringi and Dr. Babulal (MD Urmul) and other nominated members of Academic Council were present in the meeting. Dean Student Welfare Prof. Praveen Bishnoi, Honorable members of Academic Council Dr. Sanjay Sharma (Pantnagar), Dr. Udaiveer Chahal (Ludhiana), Prof. Sheela Choudhary (Jaipur), Prof. Dharam Singh Meena (Jaipur) and Prof. Rohitash Dadhich joined online.
