26 cases reported in 13 districts, 14 children died

Gandhinagar: The suspected Chandipura virus has raised concerns in Gujarat for the last 3 weeks. 26 cases of Chandipura virus have been reported in 12 districts of the state. Of which 14 have died. The health system has also been alerted to prevent the spread of Chandipura virus.

Today, the Gujarat government has released the data of Chandipura virus in the state. According to which, the maximum number of 4 cases of Chandipura virus have been reported in Sabarkantha and Aravalli districts of North Gujarat. All the child patients have died.

Apart from this, in other districts, there are 1 suspected case in Mahisagar, 1 in Kheda, 2 in Mehsana, 2 in Rajkot, 1 in Surendranagar, 2 in Ahmedabad, 1 in Gandhinagar, 2 in Panchmahal, 2 in Jamnagar and 3 in Chandipura. Suspected cases of the virus have been reported in Morbi. Out of which 1 in Mahisagar, 2 in Rajkot, 1 in Surendranagar, 1 in Ahmedabad and after the death of a child in Morbi, the death toll has gone up to 14.

On the other hand, 2 suspected cases of Chandipura virus have been reported in Rajasthan adjacent to Gujarat, out of which 1 has died. Similarly, a child patient has been reported in the border area of ​​Madhya Pradesh. Thus, if we look at the figures across the country, 29 suspected cases of Chandipura virus have been reported, out of which 15 have died.

6 more children died today.
Till yesterday, it was announced that 8 patients have died of Chandipura virus in Gujarat. Out of which 2 died in Sabarkantha, 3 in Aravalli, 1 in Mahisagar and 1 patient from outside the state. Today, in the official figures released by the government, 14 people have died in Gujarat. That means 6 more children have died in a single day today.

Health System Alerts
The Chandipura virus situation is monitored and supervised daily by the Health Minister. A total of 51,724 persons in 10181 houses have been monitored by the Health Department team to prevent the spread of Chandipura disease. While 3741 out of a total of 3567 kutcha houses (3567 in houses and 174 in other animal shed areas) have also been sprayed with Malathion powder.

Not only this, instructions have been given to investigate each case by the Rapid Response Team. In the areas where such suspected cases have been found, people in that area have been asked to use personal protective equipment.

All the districts and medical colleges of the state have been asked to immediately collect samples of such patients and send them to NIV Pune. Apart from this, it has been suggested that such cases should be treated immediately in the hospital.

Symptoms of Chandipura virus in children and how to prevent it

A. The child has high fever.
B. diarrhea
C. vomiting.
D. convulsions.
E. Being semi-conscious or unconscious.

What to do to avoid Chandipura virus infection?

  1. As far as possible, children should not be allowed to play naked in the courtyard outside the house (in dust).
  2. Insist that children sleep in insecticide-treated mosquito nets.
  3. Sealing cracks and holes in walls inside and outside the house to prevent sand from flying.
  4. Spray insecticides timely to prevent infestation of mosquitoes and flies.
