26 candidates filed their nomination papers on the last day of the fifth phase of nomination in the state

Ranchi, May 3 (HS). A total of 41 nominations were made in the state on Friday for the Lok Sabha elections, while six candidates filed nominations for the Gandey by-election. Chief Electoral Officer K. Addressing the press on Friday, Ravi Kumar said that 26 candidates filed nominations on the last day of the fifth phase of nominations in Jharkhand.

Ravi Kumar said that till now a total of 172 nomination forms have been submitted in the fifth phase, in which 68 candidates have nominated. In this, 31 candidates have contested from Chatra, 19 from Hazaribagh and 18 from Koderma. The Chief Electoral Officer said that the date of fifth phase of scrutiny is May 4 and the last date for withdrawal of nominations is May 6. Only after May 6, it will be clear how many candidates are there in the fifth phase.

On Friday, 15 candidates from Jharkhand filed nominations for the sixth phase. Three candidates filed nominations from Giridih, four from Dhanbad, four from Ranchi and four from Jamshedpur. So far, in the sixth phase, 8 candidates have filed nominations in Giridih, 12 in Dhanbad, 10 in Ranchi and 11 in Jamshedpur, while 13 candidates have filed nominations so far for the Gandey by-election. Six candidates filled the form on the last day of nomination.
