In the Kotwa police station area of the district, the police have arrested two interstate liquor smugglers along with 2583 foreign liquor kept in 299 cartons on a Haiwa truck. On the input, on the instructions of SP Kantesh Kumar Mishra, the police team formed under the leadership of DSP Sadar 2 blockaded a total of 299 cartons (2583.44 litres) of foreign liquor kept in a highway truck near Belwa Madhav Chowk of Kotwa police station area during intensive vehicle checking. While recovering, two liquor smugglers have been arrested.
The arrested liquor smugglers have been identified as Arvind Yadav, resident of Padrauna in Kushinagar district of UP and Sarfaraz Alam, resident of Rampur Karkhana in Deoria district of UP. Kotwa police station is taking further action in this regard by seizing liquor and haiva. Also, its forward and backward linkages are being investigated with the two mobile phones recovered from the smugglers.
