Jagdalpur, September 8 (HS). The 24th state level school sports competition was inaugurated on Sunday at the sports complex located at Dharampura in Bastar district headquarters under the hospitality of Bastar MP Mahesh Kashyap and Jagdalpur MLA Kiran Dev. The program started with the garlanding of Mother Saraswati's photograph and lighting of a lamp. Also, the guests saluted the school children who had come to participate in the competition from five divisions by doing an attractive march past. Apart from this, an attractive cultural program was presented by the children of the schools of Jagdalpur.
Bastar MP Mahesh Kashyap said that sports have special importance in life and along with studies, sports are also important for physical and mental development. He expressed his gratitude to the government for organizing the state level sports in Jagdalpur and congratulated and wished all the children participating in the competition.
MLA Kiran Dev said that all children should enjoy the game with sportsmanship. Winning and losing is a part of the game, the losers should not be disappointed, the next time whenever they get a chance, they should perform better and the players should display sportsmanship. All children should set their goals and try to move ahead in life. Mayor Mrs. Safira Sahu also addressed the program.
