2474 liters of illegal foreign liquor hidden in a truck loaded with ballast seized, two arrested

Saharsa, March 13 (HS). Despite the implementation of prohibition law in Bihar, the process of liquor smuggling is not showing any signs of stopping. However, its prevention and crackdown is going on by conducting raid campaigns by the Police and Prohibition Department. In this sequence, Saur Bazar Police has achieved a big success, under which 275 cartons i.e. a total of 2474 liters of foreign liquor has been recovered from a ballast laden truck.

In this regard, Saur Bazar Police Station Head Avinash Kumar received information from the team of Prohibition Department, Patna. A 12 wheeler truck loaded with ballast, in which the truck driver was Sintu Kumar, resident of Maheshkhunt and Rikki Kumar, father of Lakshmi Yadav, district Khagaria. Who had two mobile smartphones, a GPS device. The consignment of illegal liquor was hidden in it and was going to solar market from Jharkhand. It is going towards Saharsa. After receiving the information, a team was formed under the leadership of Police Station Head Saur Bazar as per the instructions of the Superintendent of Police.

Investigation was started at Saur Bazar Samada Mor. During the investigation, a truck loaded with ballast was stopped on the basis of suspicion and taken to the nearby Saur Bazar High School playground and searched. So a total of 2474.64 liters of English liquor of different brands and quantities was recovered in 275 cartoons. The driver and helper of the truck have been detained.

While giving a press conference in this regard, Sadar DSP Alok Kumar said that investigation is being done in relation to illegal liquor traders. A case has been registered and investigation has been started. Circle Inspector Abhishek Anjan, Saur Bazar police station incharge Avinash Kumar, D N Ojha were present on the occasion.
