22488 new voters will cast their votes in Koderma district

Koderma, 27 April (Hindustan Reporter). Regarding the Lok Sabha elections, the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police held a press conference on Saturday in the Koderma Collectorate auditorium room and gave information about the election preparations. Deputy Commissioner Megha Bhardwaj said that the fifth phase of voting in Koderma Lok Sabha parliamentary constituency is to be held on May 20.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the last date for nomination for Koderma Lok Sabha constituency is May 3. Scrutiny is on May 4 and the last date for withdrawal of names is May 6. The Deputy Commissioner said that the nomination work has started from Friday. Giridih DC returning officer has been appointed for nomination. He said that the total number of polling stations under Koderma district is 628, of which 429 are in Koderma assembly, 146 are in Barkatta and 53 are in Barhi assembly. There are a total of 22488 voters aged 18-19 years in Koderma district who will cast their vote for the first time. 142 voters in the district are above 100 years of age.

Superintendent of Police Anudeep Singh said that it is the responsibility of the district administration to conduct the elections in a fair and peaceful manner. All kinds of preparations have been made for the elections. The police administration along with the district administration is ready to conduct the elections in a fear-free environment. SP said that 5 interstate and 7 interdistrict checkposts have been made in the district. 15 companies of security forces have been asked for voting. Also, helipads have been marked in all the block headquarters. A proposal has been sent for preventive action against 1217 people in the entire district.

Additional Collector Poonam Kujur, SDO Riya Singh, DTO Vijay Soni, DPRO Ravi Kumar were also present in the press conference.
