Firozabad, 13 November (HS). The court on Tuesday sentenced a man found guilty of raping a minor to 20 years of imprisonment. A fine has also been imposed on him. If he does not pay the fine, he will have to face additional punishment.
On May 8, 2022, a young man abducted a teenage girl from the North Police Station area. The girl’s father filed a case in the police station against Ankit alias Akash, resident of Tapa Penth. Police recovered the girl from Hathras after a month. The girl told that Ankit took her to Hathras by threatening to kill her brother. There the young man had physical relations with her without her consent. Later the police caught him and brought him to Firozabad. After investigation, the police filed a charge sheet against Ankit in the court.
The case took place in the court of Additional Sessions Judge, Special Judge POCSO Act Court Number One Awadhesh Kumar Singh. Special Public Prosecutor Awadhesh Bhardwaj, who is prosecuting the case on behalf of the prosecution, said that many witnesses testified during the trial. Many evidences were presented before the court. On the basis of testimony and evidence of witnesses, the court found Ankit guilty. The court has sentenced him to 20 years imprisonment. A fine of Rs 58000 has been imposed on the culprit. In case of non-payment of fine, he will have to undergo additional imprisonment of one year.
