20 quintals of illegal poppy husk worth Rs 2 crore seized, one smuggler arrested

Bhopal/Neemuch, 1 July (HS). Madhya Pradesh Police is working strictly towards the arrest of illegal drugs. Police is continuously taking action against drug smugglers. In this sequence, Ratangarh police station of Neemuch district has achieved a big success on Monday. Here the police has seized 20 quintals of illegal dodachura worth about 2 crore rupees being transported in a truck in large quantities and arrested a smuggler.

On June 30, an informer informed the Ratangarh police station that driver Dinesh, son of Jairam Dhakad, resident of Javda, district Chittorgarh (Rajasthan) was going to Rajasthan from Javda Nimdi side via Ratangarh to Singoli with illegal drug dodachura in his truck. Acting on the above information, the accused Dinesh was arrested by blocking the culvert between Narada-Neem Ka Kheda. A total of 20 quintals of illegal dodachura stuffed in 100 sacks being smuggled under 150 sacks of urea fertilizer was recovered from the truck. A case was registered against the accused under the NDPS Act and investigation was taken up. The accused is being questioned regarding the sources of bringing and taking the seized illegal dodachura.

The police seized 1.20 quintals of illegal poppy husk worth about Rs 2 crore, 150 bags of urea fertilizer worth Rs 40 thousand and a truck worth about Rs 25 lakh from the accused, totaling goods worth Rs 2 crore 25 lakh 40 thousand.

Senior officials had given instructions to take action

Inspector General of Police Ujjain Zone Santosh Kumar Singh and Deputy Inspector General of Police Ratlam Range Manoj Kumar Singh had directed to arrest illegal drugs in Neemuch. Under the guidance of Neemuch Superintendent of Police Ankit Jaiswal, Additional Superintendent of Police Naval Singh Sisodia and Sub-Divisional Officer of Police Jawad Nileshwari Dabar prepared an action plan for effective implementation. This action has been taken by forming a team under the leadership of Police Station Incharge Ratangarh Inspector BS Gore.
