20 children got relief from Bal Hriday Yojana | News India

Kishanganj, 02 September (HS). The Bal Hriday Yojana run by the state government in the district since the year 2021 is proving to be life-saving for the children of needy families. Under this, free treatment is being provided to those children who have holes or more than one disorder in their hearts. In this sequence, in the screening done so far in the district, more than one heart disorder has been found in a total of 103 children from birth. Out of which 30 children have been found fit for surgery. The rest of the children are being treated with medicines. At the same time, 20 children have got a reprieve from successful surgery.

The district's civil surgeon Dr. Rajesh Kumar gave this information on Monday in the Sadar hospital premises. He told that the parents had received information about the child's continuous fever and stunted growth from local doctors. Necessary tests by doctors from the district and even Patna have revealed that the child has more than one heart disorder. Lakhs of rupees were needed in one go for its treatment. Which was difficult for the parents who somehow earn their livelihood by working as daily wage laborers. During the screening camp organized under the National Child Health Program in the nearby Anganwadi center, the parents showed the documents of the test to the doctors of the National Child Health Program.

After examination in the said camp, the doctor referred the children to the district coordinator of the National Child Health Program, giving information about the Bal Hriday Yojana. Thereafter, through the Indira Gandhi Medical Institute, Patna, the child was treated at Satya Sai Hospital, Ahmedabad, Gujarat state and now he is completely healthy. Giving information, RBSK DIC Manager cum District Coordinator Pankaj Kumar Sharma said that so far, early identification and early intervention has been done for 4D i.e. four types of problems including specific diseases in the case of 25 children (0 to 18 years). These four problems include examination of birth defects, disease, deficiency and disability including retardation in development at the time of birth.

District Program Manager Dr. Munajim said that our team of National Child Health Program is constantly engaged in identifying such children. In this regard, the Civil Surgeon of the district Dr. Rajesh Kumar praised the work of the team of National Child Health Program and said that the Bal Hriday Yojana of the government is a special initiative. It is no less than a boon in the free treatment of children with holes in the heart or other disorders from birth. I appeal to the people of the district to cooperate in connecting those who are facing such problems directly to this program.

Parents of all 10 children said that it was only after the launch of Bal Hriday Yojana that our child got a new life. Otherwise it was impossible for us to get him treated due to financial constraints. Heartfelt thanks to the government for starting this scheme.
